The Truth About Getting Your On Page SEO Factors On Point

You’re struggling to get your on page SEO factors in order; which in turn means you’re struggling to get your content ranked over at Google.  I know what that feels like because I've been there before. I think we have all been there at least some time in our blogging, or internet marketing career.

If you are having some trouble getting it right, I’m going to show you in this post how easy it can be in just a few quick techniques to get on point and start ranking over at Google.  I know some people on the internet are saying Google is constantly changing what they’re looking for but if you follow these steps you can’t go wrong.

On Page SEO Factors: Your To-Do List

Step 1: Get a blog.  If you have no techie skills at all and don’t want to mess with design, domain name, plug-ins, and design optimization I highly recommend the Empower Network blogging platform for a “done for you” authority blog.

Step 2: Find a long tail keyword to “go after” at Google.  An easy way to find a keyword is to go to the Google keyword tool and type in a word you’re thinking about.  I look for words that get between 800-1100 searches per month with low competition.  You can definitely win at Google for these types of keywords.  Let’s use the keyword “Indianapolis Chiropractor” I chose for this post “On page SEO factors” as our example.

Step 3: Place your exact keyword phrase in the title of the post.  If you’re using an SEO tool or plug-in on your blog place your keyword phrase in the Title and headline of the post.  Example title: “Indianapolis Chiropractor For Back and Neck Pain Relief.”

Usually an SEO plug-in lets you write a description as well.  If so, make sure your keyword phrase is near the beginning of your description.  Example description: “Our Indianapolis chiropractor can provide you with quick relief of all forms of back and neck pain.  No lengthy long-term treatment plans here.  We offer same day appointments and welcome walk-ins.”

Step 4: in Our On Page SEO Factors: Place the exact keyword phrase somewhere in the URL. Example: http://www.ppisupporline.com

Step 5: Your keyword phrase should have one H1 tag, and one H2 tag.  The HTML code for using these tags look like this Indianapolis Chiropractor.

Step 6: Always place a picture in your post and use the keyword in the alt tag.  Remember to use royalty free photos to avoid copyright infringements.

Step 7: You will want the exact keyword phrase in the first sentence of your post and the last sentence of your post.

Step 8: A good rule of thumb is to have a 1% keyword density.  This means that for a 500 word article you sprinkle in your keyword phrase every 100 words or so.  This will help our on page SEO factors.

Step 9: Have the keyword phrase one time in bold, italics, and quotations.

Step 10: Make sure your content is relevant to your keyword and all other on page factors are on point.

Step 11: After your signature at the bottom of the page, have a strong call to action to get your reader to click through to your offer or product you’re promoting.

Where to place your keyword phrase in your post:
  • Headline/Title
  • Description
  • First sentence
  • Sprinkled every 100 words
  • A picture with an alt tag
  • One time with H1 and H2
  • One time in bold, italics, and quotations
